FPL: Who to get in to replace Richarlison?

Richarlison

Richarlison was this week’s “most transferred in” player and currently is selected by >31% of all the teams in the game.

However, his red card has thrown a wrench in the plans for all of his owners. What’s more, he has quickly been dumped out of the teams as can be seen the fall in his price earlier today. Here we take a look at some of the potential replacements for Richarlison this week:

Theo Walcott

Theo Walcott already has 2 goals and an assist to his name in the past 2 weeks. Quite honestly, if it wasn’t for his wasteful finishing against Southampton, he would have ended the game with a hat-trick. He has still looked dangerous and his chemistry with Sigurdsson and Tosun has been electric.

As another Everton player, he looks like a direct replacement for Richarlison which can be seen from the rise in his ownership and price in the last couple of days. With home games against West Ham and Huddersfield, 2 of the worst defenses in the league, expect goals from Walcott. But beware, Walcott always has been a streaky player, with a tendency to fizzle out just when you need him.

Pedro

Pedro has had a good start to the season with 2 goals in the first 2 games of the season. With home games coming up against Bournemouth and Cardiff, expect Chelsea to score goals in the next 2 games which could result in good returns for the winger.

However, with Hazard being restored to the starting lineup, there seems to be only 1 other spot which Willian and Pedro are fighting for. It seems to be Pedro’s spot for now but how long he can keep it for remains an unanswered question.

Gylfi Sigurdsson

Another Everton player on the list, Gylfi Sigurdsson has been finally restored to the CAM position this season after the departure for Rooney. Having been subbed off early in gameweek 1 against Wolves, his performances in the last 2 games have been amazing. It is a shame that he only has 1 assist to his name but he easily could have had a couple in the game against Southampton alone.

With ownership <1.5% and 2 juicy home fixtures he could easily be a differential pick but he would need nearly an extra million to replace Richarlison.

Richarlison

Roberto Pereyra

Watford have had a cheap midfielder score a lot of points in the game in the last couple of seasons. It was Capoue in 2016-17, and Richarlison in 2017-18 and it seems like the trend will continue this season with Roberto Pereyra. With 3 goals in their 2 home games, Pereyra seems to have hit a purple patch at the Vicarage.

He has already seen 2 price rises in the last 2 weeks. He will be gamble though, for the next 2 weeks, with 2 very difficult home games against Spurs and United.

Ryan Fraser

Fraser has put in very good performances in the first 3 gameweeks of the season. He has definitely rewarded his owners with some really good points. With ownership of ~5.6% he certainly could be a differential pick. He does, however, have tough fixtures in the next 2 gameweeks, with Chelsea away and Leicester at home.
