A brilliant performance and win against Chelsea on Saturday left many Arsenal fans with a feeling of hope and positivity. Unfortunately, it wasn’t all success.

Hector Bellerin, who had been playing fantastically in the game previous, and had only just come back into the team following a previous injury, appeared to awkwardly stretch his knee.

The Arsenal man fell to the floor clutching his knee in visible pain and devastation. The injury is suspected ligament damage in the knee which will require a lengthy layoff.

Bellerin falling victim to Arsenal injury ‘curse’?

This is not the first long-term injury Arsenal’s defence has suffered this season.

Rob Holding was ruled out for the rest of the season with a ruptured Anterior Cruciate Ligament in a game again Manchester United earlier on this season. Horribly, these two players also happen to be two of Arsenal’s youngest and best performing defenders at the moment.

The Arsenal Head Coach, Unai Emery said after the game, “We are going to wait until tomorrow. It is his knee and the first prediction maybe can be an important injury. Tomorrow we will speak with the doctor. I hope not, but it is not very positive, our first impression.”

Hopefully for Arsenal and all their fans sake, Hector Bellerin makes a speedy recovery and can be back out on the pitch as soon as possible.
