Arsenal vs Liverpool – Match Preview

match

As the weekend begins, a match between two in-form teams looms. It is sure to prove a feisty showdown that will provide us with maybe a small early insight into what the table might look like come the end of the season.

Liverpool will be feeling confident going into the match, after easy destructions of Red Star Belgrade and Cardiff in their last two games, scoring eight times and conceding once in the process. Reds fans will be pleased to see the return to form for their star from last season, Mohammad Salah. He didn’t enjoy the best of starts to the season, but has scored 4 in his last 3.

Fellow star frontmen Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino are also enjoying good form, scoring 3 and 1 in their last 2, respectively. Also boasting a rock solid defence, Liverpool will be hoping to be able to suppress an Arsenal attack very much in form. Arsenal have been playing some of the best football we have seen in the Premier league this season.

Arsenal have scored 24 goals in the Premier league this season. Only Man City have scored more, with 27. Liverpool have scored 20. Arsenal fans will be hoping their attack that has been so promising this season will be at their best. Star men Pierre Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette having scored 13 goals between them in the league this season, having created a dynamic partnership that has excited Arsenal fans to no end.

Can Ozil bail out a leaky defence?

Another man Arsenal will need at his best is Mesut Ozil, the German has been inconsistent of late but as he showed in a game against Leicester, which Arsenal won 3-1, when at his best, he and Arsenal are a force to be reckoned with.

His passing and vision seem to result in a bond between the whole team which sees Arsenal score beautiful team goals almost impossible to defend against. Passing and teamwork of this quality will be sure to breach the Liverpool defensive wall.

The Arsenal defence is unfortunately still a massive downfall of the gunners however and with the possible absence of Hector Bellerin this could prove a problem against Liverpool’s strong attack. However the likely return of experienced defender, Sokratis will be a huge boost to Arsenals defence.

Whoever comes out on top from this fixture, it is sure to be a brilliant game for the neutral as two in form teams battle it out.

Score prediction: 2-2
