In a surprising turn of events, Dereck Chisora has announced that former arch-nemesis David Haye will become his new manager.
The pair had an ugly grudge match in 2012, which ended with David Haye knocking Dereck Chisora out in the fifth round. This was after they clashed with each other during a press conference. In truth, it appeared that they never really saw eye-to-eye.
Chisora is now looking to get a rematch locked down with Dillian Whyte. Indeed, he believes Haye can be the man to help him reach his best. The former boxer, meanwhile, believes the 34-year-old is yet to reach his potential.
Chisora is coming off what has been regarded as one of his best performances. This was when he managed to knockout Carlos Takam in July, a match that he looked down and out in.
The heavyweight had to dig deep and showed what he was all about. And now, he wants to go up against Whyte once again and wants to prove he can win.
The original match between the pair in December 2016 ended with a split decision in Whyte’s favour, however, it could have easily been scored very differently.
