Willian has decided to stay at Chelsea after rejecting Manchester United and Barcelona.
Jose Mourinho was set to launch a last gasp bid for the Brazilian winger, who is his top target this summer.
Mourinho looked set to battle out with Barcelona for Willian’s signature before the transfer window closes on Thursday.
However, after talks with new Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri, the 29-year-old looks likely to remain at Stamford Bridge.
Willian finally spoke about the transfer rumours following Chelsea’s defeat to Manchester City in the Community Shield.
“This is just the beginning, I’ve been only in three training sessions. We have a new season with a new philosophy, everything is new for everyone. This team has everything to improve in all aspects.
“The people know we have a lot of competitions to play. If we work hard we can achieve a lot of things.
“I always told him I’m really happy playing for Chelsea. I never talk about me leaving the club.”
Willian’s decision to stay at Chelsea is a blow to Jose Mourinho, who has admired him since becoming manager of Manchester United.
The ex-Chelsea boss was set to offer the Blues Anthony Martial in return for Willian, as he has lost patience with the Frenchman.
