Manchester United have approached Bayern Munich over a deal to sign Jerome Boateng.
United believe that Bayern Munich will accept a bid in the region of £45 million to allow Boateng, the 29-year-old centre back, to leave the Allianz Arena.
The German international, who spent a season at United’s rivals Manchester City, could be open to a move to the Red Devils.
However, other clubs are also interested in the Germany international. Bayern CEO, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, has revealed that Paris St. Germain are also looking to snap up the experienced centre back.
Mourinho is looking to strengthen his defence before the transfer window closes on Thursday.
Despite showing interest in Boateng, United will still be pursuing Leicester City’s Harry Maguire.
Tottenham’s Toby Alderweireld and Barcelona’s Yerry Mina are other potential signings which would add to Mourinho’s defensive options.
