Does Unai Emery know his best XI yet?

Emery took over the reigns from Arsene Wenger during the summer, but has so far struggled to implement his tactics on this Arsenal side.

In fairness Emery, the former PSG manager, could not have been given a tougher start of fixtures. A 2-0 defeat to the ever impressive Manchester City got worse as they lost at Stamford Bridge 3-2 with a late goal from Marcos Alonso.

Although Cech had a reasonable game against Chelsea, he has started to show signs of ageing in the last couple of years. Bernd Leno was signed in the summer and should be given a run out. He is much more competent with the ball and playing out from the back.

Mustafi is a liability and Arsenal concede far more goals with him in the team so I’d draft in Holding.

Mustafi, a liability in Arsenal’s defence?

To suit a 4-3-3 formation, the midfield triangle provides defensive cover and an attacking flair with the forward three providing attacking pace.

With this formation The Gunners need to become more of a counter attacking team. This will help their away form for sure going forward.

My starting Arsenal XI:

GK: Leno
RB: Bellerin
CB: Sokratis and Holding
LB: Monreal
DM: Torreria
CM: Mikitayrian and Ozil
LW: Welbeck
RW: Lacazette
ST: Aubameyang

In the next few weeks, we will begin to have more clarity on what Emery’s plan is for the Arsenal side.
