Hearts striker Conor Sammon has joined Motherwell on a season-long loan deal.

The striker joins Motherwell for the season ahead after spending last season on loan at Partick Thistle.

He returned to parent club, Hearts, from Thistle in the summer after suffering relegation from the premier league with the Jags.

This is the Irishman’s third spell out on loan from Hearts since he joined the Jambos on a three-year-deal from Derby County in 2016.

He has failed to make an impact at the Edinburgh club, making 27 appearances and scoring just two goals.

Sammon, also known as ‘the fish’ is keen to get his career back on track at Motherwell this season.

“I’m just looking forward to getting stuck in here, playing a lot of games, scoring a lot of goals, and just being a part of a successful season.

“I think the other strikers in the squad are similar. They’re physical, strong and quick, so I definitely think I can fit in here and I think my style of play will help me to have a good season here.”

Sammon becomes Motherwell’s sixth signing this summer.
